About MDF

Maina Devi Foundation is an organized, autonomous, non-profit, non-political, and non-governmental social organization committed to improving social aspects of development, including social, cultural, human service, public welfare, philanthropy, protection of human rights, education, health, children, youth and old, tribes, sports, tourism, agriculture, employment, children and women empowerment, youth leadership, communication, and environment protection. It was established in the far-western part of Nepal at Lamkichuha Municipality-3, Kailali in the year 2074 BS, and was registered in 2077 under the  Organization Registration Act, 2034, Section 4. From its humble beginnings, Maina Devi Foundation has grown into a vibrant organization working with a range of people across multiple sectors with more than one lakh volunteers. Tackling issues in an integrated, sustainable manner, Maina Devi Foundation aims at improving the current condition of the environment and thus improve lives.

Purpose

Seeing the country’s status quo, it was necessary to minimize the problems of backward population, poverty, social inequality, etc. due to the growing population and its stress. The importance of youth society uniting and playing an essential role in minimizing the same problems was vital. Thus, Maina Devi Foundation was formulated under the Organization Registration Act, of 2034 to move the youth forward in collaboration with various governmental and nongovernmental bodies

Operational Areas

The jurisdiction of the Maina Devi Foundation is in the Kailali district. With the approval of the concerned local authority, the jurisdiction can also be extended to other districts. Maina Devi Foundation was functional in the following areas of the country: “Project Clean Kasthamandap” was run in the Kathmandu Valley; “Highway Cleanup Campaign” was conducted in 8 different municipalities and VDCs of Karnali Province; “Bhokai Cha Humla” was administered in Humla District at Karnali Province; “Help for Needy Campaign” and “Dasha Lageko lai Dashain” were carried out in Kailali District at Karnali Province; “Oxygen Supply Campaign” was run in Kailali District; “COVID Relief Campaign” was run in Kailali and Gorkha District of Nepal; Project Sachetana
was held throughout the country in all the districts.
